Frequently asked questions
WHAT IS ACCELERADE AND WHEN SHOULD I TAKE IT?
ACCELERADE is a protein enhanced sports drink that provides rapid rehydration by supplying the necessary electrolytes and fluid depleted during exercise. It also extends endurance by sending more carbohydrate energy to working muscles faster.
USAGE: Generally speaking, ACCELERADE can be taken before and during exercise. One serving of ACCELERADE 20-30 minutes prior to the customer’s workout and one serving during the workout is a good entry point for incorporating ACCELERADE into your training regimen. Some consumers like to use more, particularly during extended periods of exercise. Due to the patented 4:1 carbohydrate to protein ratio benefits that ACCELERADE has, you can also use it as a recovery drink within 30 minutes following a light workout for reduced muscle damage. For higher intensity workouts, please see our ENDUROX R4 recovery product.
*For more information see our ACCELERADE CLINICAL STUDIES.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ACCELERADE AND ACCELERADE HYDRO?
ACCELERADE HYDRO is a lower-calorie alternative to refuel during workouts and has 50% fewer calories than ACCELERADE.
WHAT IS ACCEL GEL AND WHEN SHOULD I TAKE IT?
ACCEL GEL is a portable, energy pack featuring the patented 4:1 carbohydrate to protein ratio that provides more energy, extends endurance and speeds muscle recovery.
USAGE: Generally speaking, ACCEL GEL is designed to be taken before exercise and every 15-45 minutes during exercise, depending on the intensity of the workout.
*For more information see our ACCEL GEL CLINICAL STUDIES.
WHAT IS ENDUROX R4 AND WHEN SHOULD I TAKE IT?
ENDUROX R4 is a recovery drink featuring the patented 4:1 carbohydrate to protein ratio that increases muscle energy replenishment following exercise, decreases post exercise muscle damage and improves endurance capacity in a subsequent workout.
USAGE: Generally speaking, ENDUROX R4 should be taken within 30 minutes after exercise to maximize its benefits.
*For more information see our ENDUROX R4 CLINICAL STUDIES.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ACCELERADE AND ENDUROX R4?
Both products contain the patented 4-1 ratio of carbohydrate to protein. ENDUROX R4 is specifically for use following exercise. It also contains glutamine and higher levels of antioxidants Vitamin E and Vitamin C to help reduce post exercise muscle damage and replace critical amino acid stores lost during exercise.
WHAT IS THE 4:1 RATIO?
The 4:1 Ratio is the unique ratio of 4 parts carbohydrate to 1 part protein that fuels superior endurance, performance, hydration and recovery. Until the late 1990s, exercise and post-exercise nutrition for athletes was all about carbohydrate. Then a group of leading exercise physiologists came together to formulate the next generation of sports nutrition products based on the very latest science. They discovered that a 4:1 ratio significantly enhanced hydration, increased endurance, reduced exercise-related muscle damage, and accelerated post-exercise muscle recovery compared to carbohydrate alone.
*For more information see our SCIENCE BEHIND 4:1.
WHAT IS FORZE GPS AND WHEN SHOULD I TAKE IT?
FORZE GPS bars are for hunger control when you need it most. They can be used throughout the day to extend the feeling of fullness.
WHAT DOES “GPS” IN FORZE GPS STAND FOR?
Gastric Peptide Stimulators - which is a fancy name for nutrients that affect Cholescytokinin (CCK). CCK is a natural protein/peptide produced by the body. The primary action of CCK is to close down the valve from the stomach to the GI tract, slowing the movement of food from the stomach. When food stays in the stomach longer you feel fuller for extended periods of time. Additionally, CCK acts in the appetite centers of the brain to extend the feeling of satiety.
